Welcome to The B12 Society

B12 deficiency is a condition that affects countless millions worldwide. In the UK official figures indicate that 6% of it’s population are deficient, with almost 1 in 5 of the highest risk group, the over 60’s, being affected. The true figures are likely to be much higher as the condition often goes undiagnosed with the sufferer learning to live with their symptoms, and their health deteriorating to the point where a full recovery is unlikely. In other cases B12 deficiency is often misdiagnosed as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Dementia, MS, ME, etc.  Some research even suggests that up to 40% of the western world could be B12 deficient.

B12 deficiency is treated by means of  simple inexpensive replacement therapy which allows most sufferers to manage their condition. However, with appropriate training not readily provided to UK healthcare professionals, there is a general lack of understanding of B12 deficiency within the medical profession, therefore those who do not respond well to the standard treatment are left with very painful unpleasant symptoms.
